Applying to GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY —-Do You Think My Chances Are Good?
-I will graduate top of my class, but it’s only a class of 70 students as a whole.
-I have a 4.0, but there are no AP classes available at my school.(I have gone through Pre-Calc in math, 4 years of English, 4 years of Sciences, 3 years of Spanish, and 3.5 years of Social Sciences/History)
-I scored a 25 on my ACT.(I think my ACT will be what pulls me down)
-I am President of the Hopewell District of the Illinois Association of Student Councils, as well as Homecoming Chairperson on my local student council.
-I am Vice-President of my school’s National Honor Society.
-I applied as an Early Decision Candidate.
I’m really hoping that my chances are high, but my second choice is American University, which from doing some research on my own I’m thinking is less competitive. —Alumni of either school I could REALLY use your input!
Thanks!
American is less competitive and admits about 53% of the applicants, whereas GW admit about 37%. Yes, your ACT is not the best. Try getting some tutoring and taking it again. Also be sure that you do not need the SAT for these schools. Apply also to a much easier school as insurance.
