traveling to russia for vacation?
im not black im of indian/spanish decent and was born in trinidad… i’ve read a few posts of blacks not liked in russia… but their culture and history has facinated me to the point where i’m prob obsessed. im wanting to eventually travel there. would i be accepted or not really? my wife is white so is that like a free pass? lol let me know thanks everyone
You will have no problem if you’ll travel smart. If you go to St. Petersburg and Moscow you just have to remember few things. You should stay within the downtown boundaries (unless you are taking a group tour), don’t travel alone at night in residential areas. You will definitely have no problem if you spend time with somebody local or a tourist group. Unfortunately, St. Petersburg and Moscow have a large concentration of racist groups that attack foreigners. However, most of the people that usually get attacked are international students and these incidents usually happen in secluded and in courtyards of residential areas.
I am definitely not trying to scare you, you should definitely go and enjoy yourself. Just have to be aware where you are and avoid dangerous situations.
